Snoqualmie Valley 10k Race Recap

Hey everyone!

I know I’m a little late getting this up, but better late than never, right? A couple of weeks ago I participated in the Snoqualmie Valley 10k, despite ending up with a really bad eye infection the day before (part of the reason for the sunglasses in the race day photos). I’m definitely doing great with injuries lately! Hopefully I have gotten everything out of the way so that I can finish up my training strong and make it to the start line of the Beats Half Marathon in August without anymore issues. Fingers crossed! Continue reading

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 3

Hey there!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and took your shoes out for a run or two this weekend. It was insanely hot by Seattle standards last weekend, so my 5 mile long run at noon on Saturday turned out to be a bit more challenging than I had hoped it would be. That’s the good thing about training though is that you’re TRAINING and LEARNING what works for you and what doesn’t.

This weekend I learned that long runs at noon, the heat and sweet potatoes paired with half a banana and some PB for pre run fuel do not mix well. Who would have thought? Definitely not some of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made, but you live and you learn. Right?  Anywhoo… I’d definitely rather learn that lesson now than on race day…

Would You Rather… Running Survey

Hey there everyone!

I hope you’ve all had a good week of running so far! Good luck to everyone on their long runs this weekend. I’ve got 5 miles on the agenda for tomorrow which I’m a little nervous about for some reason. It’s my first time covering that distance without stopping in who knows how long… I’m guessing around a year so yeah… should be interesting.

Anyhoo, I thought I’d check in today with a fun survey that my coach Laura posted a little while back. Feel free to answer some of the would you rathers in the comment section below or post on your own blog. I’d love to hear your answers!

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 2 + Discount Code

Hello everyone!

I hope you all have been having a great weekend so far and have fun plans for your bonus day off tomorrow! I have to say, I’m definitely excited to have an extra day off this week. It’s been forever since I’ve taken a day off so this is a much needed break for me. In my opinion, all weekends should be 3 days anyways. That way you get one day to bum around, one day for fun stuff and one day for chores. Am I right or am I right?!?

Beats 10k Race Recap

Hey everyone!

This recap has been a long time coming but better late than never right?!!? Late in the afternoon last Saturday, Carleeh sent me a text saying that she had an extra bib for The Beats 10k that evening and asked if I wanted to join her. So I thought “Why not agree to an impromptu 10k starting in around 2.5 hours?” so I said yes! We agreed that we were going to just be running for fun and taking breaks whenever we needed to so I felt comfortable taking this on even though my current longest distance had been around 3 miles before the race.

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 1 + Spin Tabata Workout!

Photo here.

Hello Everyone!

I haven’t officially announced this on here yet but after running The Beats 10k last weekend, I decided to commit to training for a half marathon later this summer. Now since I’m still rehabbing from an injury that I’m definitely ready to be done dealing with, I know I won’t be crushing any crazy times with this half. This training cycle is more about actually getting back to doing what I love and just finishing the race.

A few thoughts on body kindness and running…

I realized something today after running my first 10k in FOREVER. Running allows  me to be kinder to myself and more accepting of the things I would like to change.

Well hello there lovely people!

I hope you all had a great weekend and that you were able to squeeze in a run or two with some friends. Since I’ve got a lot to catch you up on, let’s get into it!
