This weekend was all about running, as all good weekends should be.
My friend, Jenica, ran her first half marathon over the weekend at the Rock and Roll Seattle Half. She totally killed it, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s start from Friday night at the expo!
Hopefully the sun was out in your neck of the woods, because it was BEAUTIFUL around here this weekend! It was shorts, bare feet in the grass and ice cream weather all the way. It’s amazing how much of a difference getting a little sunlight in your day can do to change your mood! I made the mistake of thinking my Fresh Sugar lip balm had SPF in it and ended up with sunburnt lips by the end of the day on Saturday, but it was well worth it to spend the day running around outside chasing the little ones that were in town visiting.
I went for an impromptu shopping trip at Trader Joe’s last weekend. Since I always love reading about what things other people have on their “must purchase” list for all visits to TJ’s and what new things people have discovered there, I decided to do my own similar post!
I’m coming to you a little later than normal this week with my weekend recap since I also had Monday off from work and was busy busy busy all day on Monday with my mom and aunt working on decorating my apartment some more. Thankfully I have people who love me and are willing to drive over an hour to help me hang pictures in my apartment because who knows how this weekends’ projects would have turned out without them! Since I’m always on the run, I’m constantly looking for healthy snacks to throw in my bag to stop me from having those “hangry” moments from waiting just a little too long between meals. My go-to snack is usually some sort of fruit cup situation, but since that’s not always a doable option, I have to find the next best thing.
This ecard couldn’t be more true for me! I always get to class early to claim “my bike” and will sometimes not even go to class if I’m running too late because I hate using any other bike in the room. I know, I know. I completely realize how ridiculous that sounds but it’s one of my little corks, I guess.
