Lessons Learned in 31 Years

Hey everyone!

A few days ago, I celebrated my 31st birthday! I know, I’m old! haha! I started doing a little reflecting on some of the life lessons I’ve learned in my 31 years of life and thought it might be fun to share some of the things I’ve learned along the way to celebrate. Enjoy!

Would You Rather… Running Survey

Hey there everyone!

I hope you’ve all had a good week of running so far! Good luck to everyone on their long runs this weekend. I’ve got 5 miles on the agenda for tomorrow which I’m a little nervous about for some reason. It’s my first time covering that distance without stopping in who knows how long… I’m guessing around a year so yeah… should be interesting.

Anyhoo, I thought I’d check in today with a fun survey that my coach Laura posted a little while back. Feel free to answer some of the would you rathers in the comment section below or post on your own blog. I’d love to hear your answers!

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 2 + Discount Code

Hello everyone!

I hope you all have been having a great weekend so far and have fun plans for your bonus day off tomorrow! I have to say, I’m definitely excited to have an extra day off this week. It’s been forever since I’ve taken a day off so this is a much needed break for me. In my opinion, all weekends should be 3 days anyways. That way you get one day to bum around, one day for fun stuff and one day for chores. Am I right or am I right?!?

A few thoughts on body kindness and running…

I realized something today after running my first 10k in FOREVER. Running allows  me to be kinder to myself and more accepting of the things I would like to change.

The Truth About Starting Over…

*Insert Microphone Tap Here*

Hello!

Not sure if anyone still checks in on my little corner of the blogosphere anymore but I wanted to check in. I know I’ve been horrible about posting recently since life has taken over, but I’ve really been focusing on work and spending as much time with friends and family as possible. I’ve also been struggling about what to post about since my activity level has taken a serious decrease after this. Continue reading

Confessions about life right now…

I know I’ve been neglecting my little corner of the blogosphere for quite some time now. It’s partially due to an explosion of work craziness, but my pure denial is also to blame. I was going strong (or so I thought) on my return to running about a month or so ago. I was finally able to lace up, cross a few finish lines and score some sweet new PR’s. It was such a good feeling to get back to not only doing what I love, with people that I love, but also to get a little closer to feeling like myself again.

Running Victories and You MUST Add This Song to Your Playlist STAT!

I can’t say that I enjoy being to work at 7am, but I DO enjoy when I’m able to get off from work early enough to make it to the lake before the massive crowds take up all the parking.

The only problem is that around 4:30pm is basically the hottest part of the day. It was about 9 million degrees outside and I was wearing this.

Rock n Roll 2016, Food Trucks and Yoga for Runners

There was a lot that was inspiring about experiencing all the excitement surrounding the Rock n Roll Seattle Marathon/Half Marathon last weekend. It’s inspiring to see people working hard to reach their goals, it’s inspiring to see people refusing to give up and it’s inspiring to see people making fitness less of a chore and more about having fun. That being said, it’s hard to be all around that inspiration without getting wrapped up in it yourself. Continue reading

Weekend in Review: Rock and Roll Seattle & All Things Running!

This weekend was all about running, as all good weekends should be.

My¬†friend, Jenica, ran her first half marathon over the weekend at the Rock and Roll Seattle Half. She totally killed it, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s start from Friday night at the expo!

It always makes for an interesting morning when you see your bus drive away right as you’re walking up to catch it on your way to work.
