I know it’s been a long time since we’ve had a chance to catch up but I wanted to check in with you today on #WeirdWorkout. It’s important to mix things up when it comes to your workouts to keep things interesting and exciting, keep your body guessing about what’s coming next and to try out some fun new things that you might not normally try. So when prAna and Organic Valley reached out to me to partner with them to help promote their #WeirdWorkout contest, I was all in.
Before we get to the details of the super awesome contest and a discount that you’ll want to make sure to check out, I thought I would share some ideas of how you can get your #WeirdWorkout on!
I hope you all have been having a great weekend so far and have fun plans for your bonus day off tomorrow! I have to say, I’m definitely excited to have an extra day off this week. It’s been forever since I’ve taken a day off so this is a much needed break for me. In my opinion, all weekends should be 3 days anyways. That way you get one day to bum around, one day for fun stuff and one day for chores. Am I right or am I right?!?
Back in October, I posted some tips on how to be an awesome race spectator. After cheering for my friend, Jenica, at the Rock and Roll Half Marathon over the weekend, I came up with some additional tips that I wanted to share with all of you! So, let’s get into it!
Was it just me or did this week seem to go on FOREVER, even though it was a short week? Sheesh. Well at least we’ve made it to Friday and now it’s time to enjoy the weekend! The weather here has been really nice (yesterday I heard it was in the 80’s), so I’ve got my fingers crossed that the nice weather will stick around for the weekend so I can try to get a little Vitamin D going on and not look so scarily pale when wearing anything besides pants!
Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry for being a MIA yesterday. My life has been a little bit of a whirlwind lately. I spent the ENTIRE weekend from when I woke up to the time I went to bed touring apartments and looking at every single furniture place in town trying to pick up everything I need before my big move this Saturday. Oh yeah… I forgot to mention… I FINALLY FOUND AN APARTMENT! I filled out an application on Saturday evening and was approved by Sunday morning and signed my lease yesterday morning! EEEKKK! If you’re anything like me, the idea of waking up in the wee hours of the morning to fit in your sweat session before work will just never become a reality. I wait until the absolute last possible minute to roll out of bed before I have to start getting ready for work. That’s the way it always has been and that’s the way it probably always will be. Even though I don’t get up before the sun comes up to get my sweat on, I still like to fit in time for my workouts a few days during the work week, which usually means I have to hit up the gym after work. Since the weather has started to cool off and I’m coming out of my full on denial that it’s no longer summer anymore, I thought it was about time we discussed cold weather running clothes. Now that the weather is cooling off, you’re probably packing away your running shorts and tank tops for the winter. You’re probably also feeling a little less than inspired to step outside for a run when you take a look at your winter running clothes (or lack there of), so I’ve put together a round-up of some essential items to stay warm on your winter runs this season, including some of my favorites in each category. I always like to treat myself to a couple of new pieces when the seasons change so I’m definitely looking to add a few of the pieces I don’t already have to my closet. Continue reading →
I have had a couple of friends and coworkers complain of Plantar Fasciitis issues lately, so I thought this was something worth addressing. I’ve definitely had my bouts with PF over the years, so I know first hand how frustrating it can be. It is one of the most annoying and persistent injuries a runner can have because there isn’t a magic cure or pill you can take to treat it. There are however some tips to prevent it like homegrown treatment methods and stretches to help ease the pain.
