Snoqualmie Valley 10k Race Recap

Hey everyone!

I know I’m a little late getting this up, but better late than never, right? A couple of weeks ago I participated in the Snoqualmie Valley 10k, despite ending up with a really bad eye infection the day before (part of the reason for the sunglasses in the race day photos). I’m definitely doing great with injuries lately! Hopefully I have gotten everything out of the way so that I can finish up my training strong and make it to the start line of the Beats Half Marathon in August without anymore issues. Fingers crossed! Continue reading

Amazing Grass Raspberry Banana Smoothie Recipe + Giveaway!

Disclaimer: I received free product to review from Amazing Grass through a campaign with Sweat Pink. Amazing Grass is also providing the prize for this giveaway. As always, all opinions are my own.

Hello Everyone!

I want to talk to you a little bit about my normal daily routine during the week. I know some people are morning people and love to get up early to start their day with a quiet breakfast and a cup of coffee, however, I am not one of those people. I wait until the absolute last minute to get out of bed and am almost always running late which means I don’t have time to sit down for a relaxing breakfast before taking on the day.

SKINS Compression Pants Review and Giveaway!

Disclaimer: I received free product to review from SKINS through a campaign with Sweat Pink. SKINS is also providing the prize for this giveaway. I received no other compensation. As always, all opinions are my own.

Happy Thursday Everyone!!!

Today I want to talk about a new product I recently was able to try out (SPOILER ALERT: There’s a giveaway at the end, so don’t forget to leave a comment to enter!). Since I’ve started training for my half marathon this coming August, compression gear has become a big part of recovery to help keep my body happy and able to continue to log miles every week in order to make it to race day strong and ready to kick some butt. I’ve been religious about wearing compression socks or sleeves after every single run, even if it meant sneakily hiding them under my pants at work, to make sure I was speeding up my recovery and providing extra support for my tired muscles when I needed it the most.

Lessons Learned in 31 Years

Hey everyone!

A few days ago, I celebrated my 31st birthday! I know, I’m old! haha! I started doing a little reflecting on some of the life lessons I’ve learned in my 31 years of life and thought it might be fun to share some of the things I’ve learned along the way to celebrate. Enjoy!

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 5 (if we can actually even call this one training…)

Hello everyone!

How’s everyone doing this week so far? I know Tuesday is a little late to post a training recap, but I was debating if I should even write this post at all because I didn’t do much training last week. I figured though for the sake of transparency and to make sure I’m not just showing the good on here, but the bad and the ugly also, we should probably dig into what happened last week.

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 4

Hello my lovelies!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that you were able to log some outside miles! I had a pretty abnormal week of training this week. I was hosting some fitness classes for a board I’m on at work so I spent my cross training days working out in a new-to-me gym, trying out some dance fitness classes and meeting up with a local running group. All the changes seemed to throw everything off a little, making my runs this week seem a little harder than normal for me. Needless to say, I’m ready to get back into my normal routine this week. Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 3

Hey there!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and took your shoes out for a run or two this weekend. It was insanely hot by Seattle standards last weekend, so my 5 mile long run at noon on Saturday turned out to be a bit more challenging than I had hoped it would be. That’s the good thing about training though is that you’re TRAINING and LEARNING what works for you and what doesn’t.

This weekend I learned that long runs at noon, the heat and sweet potatoes paired with half a banana and some PB for pre run fuel do not mix well. Who would have thought? Definitely not some of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made, but you live and you learn. Right?  Anywhoo… I’d definitely rather learn that lesson now than on race day…

Would You Rather… Running Survey

Hey there everyone!

I hope you’ve all had a good week of running so far! Good luck to everyone on their long runs this weekend. I’ve got 5 miles on the agenda for tomorrow which I’m a little nervous about for some reason. It’s my first time covering that distance without stopping in who knows how long… I’m guessing around a year so yeah… should be interesting.

Anyhoo, I thought I’d check in today with a fun survey that my coach Laura posted a little while back. Feel free to answer some of the would you rathers in the comment section below or post on your own blog. I’d love to hear your answers!

Beats Half Marathon Training – Week 2 + Discount Code

Hello everyone!

I hope you all have been having a great weekend so far and have fun plans for your bonus day off tomorrow! I have to say, I’m definitely excited to have an extra day off this week. It’s been forever since I’ve taken a day off so this is a much needed break for me. In my opinion, all weekends should be 3 days anyways. That way you get one day to bum around, one day for fun stuff and one day for chores. Am I right or am I right?!?
