Goals To Be The Best Version Of Me In 2015

Hey there!

I know I might be going a little overboard with the goal and resolution type posts, but I really wanted to expand on my staying happy and healthy in 2015 post by putting together a list of things that I wanted to work on in 2015 in a format that I could actually check off once they were completed. I thought it was important to get all my goals written down so I had something to work toward during the year, since it’s always easy to loose site of things as time passes. I also wanted to have something and look back on at the end of 2015 to see how far I’ve come! So here’s my list of goals for this year!

Personal Goals

  • Practice more self-love, than criticism. As a Type A personality perfectionist, I tend to beat myself up a lot, so I want to learn to go a little easier on myself this year and just do my best and let that be enough.
  • Be kinder to myself and everyone else.
  • Do more little things to help others.
  • Unplug more and just enjoy the moment.
  • Learn how to say “no” more often.
  • Spend more time with people that make me happy doing things that make me happy.
  • Become a certified spin instructor and get a job teaching at a local gym.
  • Treat myself to at least one little luxury a week. This can be something as small as taking the time to paint my nails, do a face mask, enjoy a cup of tea or relax with a good book. It just has to be something I do for myself to make me feel special and valued.
  • Step up my wardrobe game!
  • Cut back on my sugar intake and stop using food as a reward.

Fitness Goals

  • Practice yoga at least one time a week to help keep me centered and injury free.
  • Cross train at least 2x a week.
  • Get my tendinitis under control so I can start racing again in 2015.
  • Complete my second half marathon. I need to add  more bling to my collection!
  • PR in the half marathon.

Blogging Goals

  • Continue to increase my readership each month.
  • Create more posts in 2015 based on popular topics on this blog in 2014.
  • Become a Fitfluential, Pro Compression and Brooks Running Ambassador.
  • Utilize social media platforms more to interact with my readers, promote my blog posts and share posts by other bloggers that I enjoyed.
  • Increase my followers on all social media platforms to at least 500.
  • Update blog graphics to a higher quality resolution and finish all graphics for social media pages and business cards.
  • Work on creating more “Pinnable” graphics to accompany my posts.
  • Improve the quality of the photos I include in my posts.
  • Make the switch from WordPress.com to WordPress.org without going crazy.
  • Write more freelance blog posts… hopefully including some that are paid eventually!

  1. Great list!

I definitely forgot some of these. Like upping my fashion game, or photo quality in my posts.

Can’t wait until we start achieving some of these goals! 2015 is going to be great. 🙂

  2. I love your goals! I need to learn how to say “no” more often, and I most definitely have to start unplugging more. As I’ve gotten more involved with blogging, I feel like I’m constantly thinking up more things I want to write about and itching for my laptop so I can get it down, and I forget to enjoy the moment/what’s around me. :/ I need to work on updating my blog graphics as well!

Good luck on your half marathon + the rest of your goals! ❤

    • I have the same problem! The more involved with blogging I get, I can always come up with something to do either on my laptop or on my phone! It’s really hard to draw the line and unplug.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Good luck with your goals in 2015!

  5. As a recovering perfectionist we should chat. It’s so hard to change that mindset but when you do it feels so incredibly amazing. Seriously, you will feel like you’ve had a ton of weight lifted from your shoulders.

Your 2015 is going to be amazing!

      • Oh geeze way to put me on the spot lol. I really want to take it to the next level. I want to work on getting sponsors, either ad wise or posts with companies I want to work with. I want to redo the site and not have to pay out of pocket to do it! I want to start a section on the blog that is all about upcycled furniture..from guest posts..and then eventually I want to turn that into a second blog. I am pumped about this year!! My adsense earnings have already doubled in the past few weeks since I have put more effort into it. Oh, and I want to do a blog class like The Elite Blog academy!! Fun times!! haha. big dreams, right!?

        • Those are awesome goals! Have you emailed any companies you want to work with yet? That’s how I started doing posts for companies and most seem pretty open to it. I saw that you mentioned the upcycled furniture in your goals post and immediately thought of a really cool dresser my aunt and uncle refinished and painted for me! I love that stuff!

I’m assuming that since you’re able to run AdSense banners, that you already self-host. How much do you spend to host yours a month? I’m looking at switching to a self-hosted blog eventually but have no clue where to begin!

          • I use wordpress and godaddy. I love godaddy! They have awesome customer service and I paid $20 for an entire year plus 6.99 (one time fee) for extra security. once my year is up it will be $89 for the next year..which isnt bad for how much I love them. They help me all of the time when I call and have set things up for me that really doesnt have anything to do with them lol. I know a lot of people use blue host but they were more money to start with and I wanted to test the waters before I paid a monthly fee. With go daddy I just paid a one time fee and my domain was free when I set up. I have a link for them on my blog that is $1 a month for a year..what I paid!
I own a craft store and we upcycle furniture, thrift store items, yard sale finds, and junk we find on the side of the streets lol. So we do a lot of searching for upcycled items to get fresh ideas and see what is out there, so I figured doing a page where i can showcase peoples work would not only be great inspiration for me, but for my readers as well. I am really excited about that goal!
I have emailed a few companies that I love but never heard back from them. I have been really busy with my store and trying to blog as much as I can, but everything has slowed down for the winter, so I am really focusing on blogging right now. I just have this feeling like I am meant to do this and great things are going to happen this year! I am just all out excited!! 🙂

            • Ahhh that makes sense. I’ll have to check out GoDaddy! Thanks so much for the tip! I was looking into Blue Host but it did seem a little pricey to me. 🙂
