5 Things Friday – Things I’m Loving Now!

Hey there!

Man what a whirlwind of a week it has been. Only one more week left until my last official day of work at my current job. EEEEEkkkkk! If only Christmas came this fast when I was a child! Anywhoo… I’ve spent a ton of time researching different apartment communities this week to prepare for a weekend jam packed with apartment tours starting at 9am on Saturday morning and going through pretty much the entire weekend. Who knew moving could be such hard work! Not this Chiquita, that’s for sure!

But let’s take a break from moving chat and get into something a little more fun… like my favorite things this week! Let’s get into it!

1. Increasing my mileage, pain free!

My physical therapist gave me some interesting tips on changing the position of my feet and arms and the length of my stride to work different muscles throughout my run so I can increase my mileage without over working the same muscles and having to stop my run short due to pain. Even though 1.5 miles at a 10 minute per mile pace doesn’t seem like much to brag about, this is the first time I’ve ran 1.5 miles without stopping due to pain in as long as I can remember. I can’t wait to get up to 2 miles!!!

2. “Wild Child” by Kenny Chesney

I’ve been a HUGE Kenny fan for as long as I can remember, so when I heard this new song, it was love at first listen. It reminds me of his old school stuff that I love and it doesn’t hurt that Grace Potter is featured on this track, too!

3. Lilly Pulitzer inspired iPhone charger wraps

I ordered a couple different sets of these last week off of Etsy so that I didn’t keep getting my charger mixed up with the other bajillion white iPhone chargers existing in the world. There’s also a charger thief in my house who likes to say I’m the one doing the stealing so now we’ll know the truth once and for all! 😉

4. Impromptu mani & Menchie’s date

Since I’ve been a little stressed out lately, I’ve been picking like crazy at my cuticles and it’s not a good look. I finally broke down and got a manicure last night after work in hopes that it would help me stop picking! It doesn’t hurt that I was also craving chocolate and there’s a Menchie’s next door to the nail salon! YUM! The girl who did my mani was the absolute nicest girl ever, so I’ll definitely be going back to visit her in the future!

5. The miracle workers at Seattle Apartment Finders.com

I know I said I was done with the moving chat, but I had to throw this one in, even though it sounds lame. These people are like the Fairy Godmother’s of moving and have made my life 10 trillion times easier this week. The people at SeattleApartmentFinders.com compile a list of apartments that meet all of your requirements for you to review AND create an appointment schedule for you and schedule appointments with all the different communities by area so you’re not driving all over the place like a crazy person. Apartment hunting is HARD work and these people are a life saver!

Question of the Day:

What are you loving this week?

What do you have any bad habits when you’re stressed?

What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. That charger is so cute! :] I’m so happy that you get to start running again, and hooray for Seattle Apartment Finders for making your life easier! 😀 (I’m so sick of moving. ;_; )

And yay for frozen yogurt! I’m currently snowed in, so I will have to live vicariously through you, hahaha.

  2. That charger wrap is adorable!

I’m embarassed to admit that I bite my nails when stressed. Mega gross, I know.

This weekend, I’m planning to get dinner with friends, get some running in and hopefully indulge in a Shamrock Shake 🙂

  3. Your nails look fantastic, and so does that froyo, girl! Woo hoo! You deserve it with all the stuff you’ve had going on lately. I’m glad to hear you are making some apartment-finding progress; it’s tough to sort through all of the options and figure out where to begin. I’m also REALLY excited about your running progress with NO pain – that is great! I hope you have a good weekend and keep us posted…two miles, here you come!

    • Thank you so much Tara! You’re so sweet and I appreciate all your kind words! They always brighten my day! I was able to do 3.1 miles last night by doing run/walk intervals, so hopefully soon I’ll be able to do 3.1 without stopping! I hope you had a great weekend! I’m heading over now to see what you’re up to! ❤

  4. Stressed, if I’m not super careful, will mean endless mindless snacking. I’m working on that as we speak 🙂 That charger is too cute. My daughter would love it. When I got home from work in Tues I surprised my daughter with a mani pedi. Can’t go wrong with that kind of surprise 🙂

    Have a wonderful weekend Tricia!

  5. I am in LOVE with the decals for the phone charger! I think I need to do some online shopping today. As for apartment finders, when I moved to Austin, TX for grad school, I had an experience similar to yours. They scheduled all the appointments and lined everything up so that it was absolutely stress free for me. It was amazing since I was new to the area.

    • They’re awesome so I’m sure you’ll love them too!

I’m somewhat familiar with the Seattle area, but definitely not enough to find a place on my own, so Apartment Finders was amazing for me too!

  6. Moving is the worst so good luck to you! I need a manicure so badly, I wish I had a fairy godmother for that, someone who just shows up and makes me pretty in my sleep 🙂

    • Yeah it’s a complete pain. Hopefully you’ll get everything wrapped up soon though so you don’t have to worry about it for long. Good luck with selling your house and relocating. It’s definitely no fun so I feel your pain!
