3 Trainers or People I’d Like to Sweat It Out With…

Hey there!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry for being a MIA yesterday. My life has been a little bit of a whirlwind lately. I spent the ENTIRE weekend from when I woke up to the time I went to bed touring apartments and looking at every single furniture place in town trying to pick up everything I need before my big move this Saturday. Oh yeah… I forgot to mention… I FINALLY FOUND AN APARTMENT! I filled out an application on Saturday evening and was approved by Sunday morning and signed my lease yesterday morning! EEEKKK!

I’ll definitely have more on all of that coming up, but since today’s (optional) topic for The Fit Dish linkup is “5 people you would most like to workout with or be trained by”, I wanted to talk about that today! (I’m a little bit of a rule breaker, so my list actually only includes 3.) Thanks Jill and Jessica for hosting The Fit Dish linkup and providing us with fun topics each week! You ladies are so inspiring! #fitfamlove

1. Karena & Katerina from Tone It Up!

Karena and Katerina from Tone It Up! are responsible for jump starting my obsession with fitness 3 years ago, so they obviously have to be on the top of my list. They introduced me to lifting weights, circuit training, form rolling and RUNNING, so I credit them for helping me adopt a healthier lifestyle. After I did their 30 day Love Your Body Challenge 3 years ago, my life made a change for the positive. I learned to love the gym and that I could actually run a 5k, 10k and half marathon with a little bit of training, encouragement, determination and the right mind set, and I fully credit K&K for helping me realize a love for exercise and running that I never knew I had before.

2. Janae from Hungry Runner Girl

Hungry Runner Girl was the first running blog I began reading around 3 years ago and became completely in love with the world of fitness blogging because of Janae. I would love to go on a long run with her and pick her brain about life and all things running because she has a ton of knowledge and techniques that I think would help me step up my running game. I also credit her fun loving and very relatable blog with inspiring me to start my own blog!

3. Adriene from Yoga with Adriene

I always thought that yoga had to be so serious and proper until I started doing Yoga with Adriene videos during the 30 Day Yoga Challenge in January. Though I wasn’t able to finish the challenge, she definitely showed me that yoga should be fun and about doing what feels good for you, instead of trying to do what everyone else is doing instead.

Questions of the Day:

Who inspired your fitness journey?

If you could work out with one person, who would it be?

  1. Great list…I also love Janae and have been following her for 4+ years!! I would never be able to keep pace with her though, she is so speedy! if I had to pick one person, I love Jackie Warner–she is awesome and has a style of fitness that just speaks to me!

    • I couldn’t agree with you more! I would love some one on one instruction on how to master the poses I’m interested in improving on! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. It’s hard to pinpoint who inspired my fitness journey but it is probably my dad. I’ve been working out since I was 14 – consistently since I was 16 and it was thanks to him dragging us to the gym. I had a membership at 14 because I him.

I’d say my continuing to do so it inspired by the results I get and how I feel.

I don’t know who I’d like to be trainined by – as you know I fly solo usually but maybe a well informed, nice yoga teacher. I’d like to explore that area more.

    • Kudos to your dad for getting you into the gym at such a young age! 🙂

I think a small or private class with a nice yoga teacher would be awesome. That way they can help you with the specific poses you’re interested in mastering!

    • Hahaha! Nothing wrong with that. I realized when I made my list, that they are all people I found through social media channels, instead of traditional media. Kind of interesting! Who would you like to workout with?

  3. I want to workout with Jillian Michaels, only once though. I don’t think I could handle her yelling at me like that on a daily basis! I would also like to have a school in cross fit by Garret Fischer. Above all, I’d love a soccer workout with Mia Hamm, that is above all my dream workouts! Thanks for sharing, this was a fun read and linkup! xoxo, ganeeban

  4. I don’t know any of the gals you mentioned but I bet they would be awesome!
Years ago when I first started running marathons, my dad used to come with me on his bike on my long runs and help me train, I really would like to take him out again this year:) Mostly I train alone, but I do find it exciting to enter races when I see elite athletes at the start!

    • That’s such a sweet way to spend time with your dad. He sounds like such a nice guy!

I love seeing elites at races too! It’s so special and exciting!

  5. I love this idea for a blog post! I am also a HRG fan–she is so positive and inspiring. Although I’m seriously jealous she can eat that many treats and still stay so petite.

My friend Brynn inspired my fitness journey. 5 years ago I was overweight and out of shape. She made me sign up for a bootcamp class with her, and start running with her. Prior to that, I seriously hated running.

    • I know right?!!? It’s baffling to me how many treats she can eat! I guess she does log quite a bit of miles so that helps a lot! 🙂

That’s so awesome! A bootcamp class is an intense way to start your fitness journey, but you definitely get some street credit with that! I love bootcamp classes too!
