Sometimes Life Gives You Froyo…

Hello Lovely People!

I hope your Tuesday is off to a good start so far. Some of you are probably out getting your runch right as I’m posting this. Kudos to you for making the most of your time! I really need to get on this bandwagon too. In case you were wondering, those last two sentences were brought to you by me needing to find a way to incorporate my new favorite word “runch” into a sentence! It’s just so fun to say! You’re welcome for introducing me to your new favorite word! Anywhoo… enough babbling! Let’s get to it!

To say that anything that could go wrong did go wrong yesterday would be the understatement of the century. My email account was shut down (it was a school account and they decided to delete it without notice 5 years after I graduated). Since they deleted it, I also lost all my contact information, calendar appointments and had to change the email address assigned to basically my entire online life. To say that I was a little annoyed is putting it mildly. On top of that, there was some major work drama going down today. By the time 5pm rolled around I was ready to sweat it all out, so I headed to the gym.

Since today was such a beautiful day here (sorry East Coast-ers), I was able to drive there with my windows down slightly and my sunroof open. I threw on some Maroon 5, put my sunglasses and I was one happy girl! A lot of people complain about the weather here, but on a day like today, how can you not love it?

Once I got to the gym, I started out with an hour long spin class with one of my favorite instructors. We did a lot of speed and hill work, so I was definitely feeling it by the end of class. I actually noticed some sweat on the floor around my bike which never happens to me. Guess I was really working hard!

After class, I headed over to the treadmills to get in my quick run for the day. I decided to try for 1.25 miles today since my mile long run last week was successful. Turns out the distance between 1.0-1.25 is where I hit my limit. My knee started to feel really unstable and achy so I stopped as soon as I made it to 1.25 miles. I think it will be a little while before I try that distance again. Looks like I need to spend some more time working on my strength training so I can handle longer distances again.

I was still feeling a little grumpy once I left the gym so I headed over to the grocery store to pick up some of my favorite coconut milk Greek yogurt when I spotted this guy dancing and took it as a sign that froyo was needed. I have an odd love for costumed characters and always HAVE to take photos with them. Besides, how could I turn down getting my photo taken with the Menchie’s ice cream cone?!?! I think the girl I asked to take the photo though I was crazy but this was a once in a lifetime shot! I had to take advantage!

Turns out that a photo with the Menchie’s character + froyo with rainbow sprinkles was just what the doctor ordered to cure my grumpy mood!

And to top it all off, I got my baby back from the bike spa today! Doesn’t she look spiffy?!!? I can’t wait to take her for a ride!

One last rambling for today… Turns out Disney is hosting the inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon September 23-25, 2016. Am I the only one seriously considering this? I NEED to be there!

What was your workout yesterday?

What’s your go to cure for a grumpy mood?

  1. I turn to wine if work puts me in a mood. It’s not my group, it’s all the drama going on outside of what we do. Ugh! I’ve dealt with it for 5 years and it still upsets me.

      • I have a new preceptor next week so I am all sorts of excited! (Everyone says she’s a sweetheart and that she loves to teach. ❤ ❤ <3) My semester ends at the end of June, and I'm taking a vacation in July…to go into study hibernation for part 2 of my licensing exams (…yay).

        Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! :]

        • That’s awesome! A good teacher can make all the difference in the world. Where are you going on vacation?

Hope you had a great weekend! ❤

          • I don’t get a vacation until July, but said “vacation” is pretty much going to be spent in study hibernation so I’ll hopefully do well on my second set of licensing boards to become a physician! ;_; I’m going to be camping out at the cat shelter in West Virginia where I stayed last summer, so at least I’ll be in good company. ❤

            • Good luck studying! Are you almost done with school then since your studying for your boards to become a physician?

            • Thank you! I’m gonna need it! x_x There are actually three “steps,” so the first set of exams was last year. This year, we have two exams for the second “set,” and we take the last one somewhere before/during our first year of residency. :O (Super fun, I know. I wonder sometimes why I chose to do this to myself, hahaha.)

If all goes well though, I’ll be graduating next May and will at least have an income again, so there’s that! Then I get to start to chip away at my astronomical student loans! Yayyy… :]

  3. Ha, my first thought when I read “runch” was: “Hmm, she must have meant lunch and accidentally hit the ‘r’ key”, and then I realized the ‘r’ and ‘l’ keys are nowhere near each other on the keyboard. I usually turn to a hot bubble bath when I am in a bad mood or had a bad day. It is relaxing and soothing for sure!

    • Haha! It was quite the unexpected ending, wasn’t it? I’m glad you liked it! I hope you’re having a great day and that you get some froyo soon! 🙂
