Stitch Fix #2 Unboxing & Review!

Hey there!

I hope that the sun is shining and it’s starting to feel a little like spring where you live because it sure has been around here! It’s been so beautiful here the last few days that I’ve been finding excuses to be outside, whether it’s for a long walk or just a short little jaunt to grab something for lunch. I’m just trying not to take it for granted since it’s been awhile since it’s been t-shirt weather outside in the PNW! The second the sun comes out here, everyone brakes out their cute summer sandals and starts cuffing their colored jeans. You just can’t help but be in a good mood!

And since it’s starting to get a little warmer out, I thought it was a good time to add some new warmer weather clothing pieces to my wardrobe for work. I know I swore I would never try Stitch Fix again after the disaster that was my first fix, but after talking to another girl on my team at work who has had a lot of luck with SF, I decided to give it another chance.

I love the idea of Stitch Fix (5 items picked for you based on your style profile by a personal stylist and sent right to your doorstep) so I really wanted my second Fix to be more successful than the first one was.

The first piece in my fix was this cute cream sweater. I loved the button details on the back of the sweater and usually something with a uniqueness factor, a neutral color and something that doesn’t need ironing would be right up my alley.

Now get ready for awkward bathroom mirror selfies! When I tried the sweater on, it seemed to fit okay, but it was a pretty heavy sweater for the spring/summer time, so I was a little confused why it was sent to me in the first place.

Verdict: Return.

The second item in my Fix was this teal teardrop necklace. I mentioned in the notes to my stylist that I wanted some new accessories, but this was definitely not the direction I was looking to take. It’s cute enough, but I asked for shorter statement necklaces, bracelets and rings, so this really wasn’t what I was looking for. Verdict: Return.

When I pulled out this floral blouse, I was intrigued, but a little hesitant. The shirt was a similar style to what I would normally pick out for myself, but the print was very different from anything I would normally purchase. When I tried it on, I was pleasantly surprised and actually thought the print was fun for spring. To top it off, I wore it to work the next day and received compliments all day long! Verdict: Keep.

I wasn’t entirely sure why these black pants were included in my fix since I specified that I was looking for spring tops and accessories. I also don’t wear bootcut pants, so I was a little mystified by these pants showing up on my doorstep so to speak. I tried them on just for fun and though they were very comfortable, the size and style was all wrong. Verdict: Return.

The last item in my Fix was this blue shirt that looks pretty much exactly like one of my favorite shirts already in my closet. I was really excited when I first pulled it out because I liked the style and color, but quickly realized that I didn’t need to repurchase something that I already had.

Verdict: Return

Overall, I thought this Fix was definitely a step in the right direction and have decided to continue receiving Fixes for awhile to see what other items the SF folks send my way. I like that it uses my style profile to suggest some new pieces that I probably wouldn’t have picked for myself to help me venture out of my style comfort zone. I was a little weary after my horrible first Fix to give it a second try, but now I’m excited to see what other suggestions they have for me!
