Hello Lovely People!
I’m once again coming to you later than normal today (SORRY!)! I had planned on having this post up early this morning for all my new Blog Hop blogging friends on the East Coast, but I got tied up with a couple of things last night and this morning, so here we are! Welcome to my new blogging friends stopping by from the Blog Hop! It’s been great getting to know all of you through your blogs this month! I’ve been loving reading about all your delicious recipes, Ragnar adventures and training plans!
Today, I wanted to share with you all my take on this banana bread recipe.
I had been craving some banana bread for awhile so I broke down and made some last weekend. I did however change a few things from the original recipe to incorporate some new ingredients I wanted to try out. The first thing I did differently was triple the amount of chocolate chips I added to my batter. The original recipe called for only 2-3 tablespoons, which seemed a little skimpy to me!
Then once my muffins were baked and cooled down, I spread some of the new Jif Whipped Peanut Butter on the top for “frosting” and added some Hemp Hearts and coconut flakes to the top for fun! Though I reluctantly shared these with my family while we watched a movie, I think these would make a great breakfast on the go!
I’ve really been enjoying adding Hemp Hearts to all sorts of things lately. Have you given them a try? Make sure you enter my giveaway HERE before it closes tonight for your chance to win some to try for yourself!
Questions of the Day:
What’s your favorite breakfast on the go?
What’s your favorite kind of nut butter?
– I prefer creamy peanut butter that is mixed with honey! YUM!

These look great. I can’t wait to try them.

These look awesome, girl! I’ve only had PB and almond butter, but I’m sure I’d like all kinds 😉

Thanks! I’ve only had those two also. I’m more of a peanut butter girl, even though I know AB is supposed to be better for you. Happy Friday!

I love PB myself, but Almond butter is okay. I love making banana muffins, without the nuts. I am horrible at baking though, so not very often are they made. I don’t really eat breakfast early {I do have a banana before a class or oatmeal about a half hour before a run. My fave breakfast is when done working out and making something with an egg. Usually avocado with it and from there whatever I have in the fridge to mix in 🙂

I’m not a huge fan of AB either. I don’t like nuts in my banana bread either! YUMMMMM!!! Eggs and avocado! Sounds delicious! I definitely prefer eggs for breakfast to most other things. Thanks for stopping by!

I am always on the go. I either enjoy having my Shakeology shake, or a peanut butter sandwich, when I need something quick to take with me.

Oh these look good! I love that the first thing you did was add more chocolate chips, exactly what I would do! Can’t wait to try them out!

Haha! Right? You can never have too many chocolate chips in my opinion! Let me know what you think when you try them out!

Oh I want to eat those right now. RIGHT NOW. I’m so glad you added extra chocolate chips, just as you should. We had muffins at work yesterday and one of the girls commented how disappointing it is when you get a muffin or cookie that you think has chocolate chips in it, but they turn out to be raisins.

I mean 2-3 tablespoons doesn’t even ensure you will get a few in each muffin, which is completely unacceptable!
I was literally laughing out loud reading this! I HATE it when that happens. I’ve been known to throw the cookie away after that for false advertisement!

My favorite breakfast-on-the-go is a smoothie. I started using Shakeology and have one of their shakes/smoothies every morning. It keeps me full and satisfied till lunch. My favorite nut butter is peanut butter. I’m allergic to almonds!

Thanks! I keep meaning to try shakeology and need to start using it. Do you like it? I think I need to get the vegan sample pack to try out the flavors because I try not to do too much dairy. How do you make your shakeo? IM ALLERGIC TO ALMONDS TOO!!!!

I do like it, but it’s really expensive (like $4/day). I don’t know if I can continue to buy it after I finish my current supply.

Yeah it’s quite the commitment spending that much on breakfast each month. I tend to eat out breakfast at work though so I guess I spend about the same either way. I really just need to start cooking! Haha
