Make Me Happy Monday 10.20.14

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! On Friday, Mickie and I went to an event with Mastin Kipp from The Daily Love that was really fun and insightful. We even got to meet Mastin and have him sign our books at the end! I’ll be talking more in detail about this event later this week, so keep your eyes peeled for an event recap!

Other than that, I didn’t do much besides work an auction this weekend since I was feeling sick and had to cancel the fun stuff I had planned. 😦 I ended up spending my weekend resting and reading “The Best of Me” by Nicolas Sparks, which is the book of the month for my new book club! I’ve gotta finish it before we go to see the movie!

I used to work right down the street from a Whole Foods but ever since I was relocated at work, I don’t get a chance to have my Whole Foods favorites much anymore. There isn’t one anywhere near where I live, so when I was done working an auction up north over the weekend, I decided to swing by the closest Whole Foods to snag some of my favorites! I grabbed a bag of gluten free honey mustard pretzel sticks, vegan chocolate mouse parfait, pomegranate seeds and chicken penne soup! YUM! I’m obsessed with all of these things and would highly recommend you pick them up the next time you’re at Whole Foods!

Another one of my favorites from Whole Foods is my dinosaur lunch bag. I absolutely love this bag! Isn’t he adorable?!?! I thought I lost this bag for the longest time, so I was so happy to be reunited with it again!

I’ve also been really enjoying relaxing with a nice cup of tea at work or before bed lately as a little luxury for myself. I really love these flavors from Celestial Seasonings because I don’t even have to sweeten them to enjoy them, which is rare for me. I’m not usually able to drink tea without sweetener, so it’s a nice chance to find some flavors that I don’t have to load up with sugar to make them drinkable! It’s also a nice way to add a little variety to my water without adding extra calories.

I’m also really enjoying this combination of CND Stickey base coat, OPI’s “You Don’t Know Jacques” and Revlon’s Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond top coat lately. I’ve been a die hard user of CND’s Stickey base coat for a long time now because I find that it really helps extend the wear of my polish. OPI’s “You Don’t Know Jacques” has always been a favorite go-to polish color of mine, but I just rediscovered it when I was sorting through my polishes a couple weeks ago and couldn’t wait to wear it again. This top coat is a new favorite of mine because it’s very shiny (a MUST in a top coat for me) and seems to help extend the wear of my polish. If I’m going to take the time to paint my nails, I want to make sure it lasts! IMG_2313[1]

The perfect fall neutral manicure color!

I’m also soaking up the last few weeks of the farmers market by my work because fresh flowers every week will be a thing of the past once it’s over. So sad! I had to take advantage of having such beautiful fresh flowers available to me by picking up a bouquet as a surprise for my mom last week.

I came across this in my Bloglovin’ feed a few days ago and it seemed to be meant for me. We all have wondered at one point or another in our lives why something good had to fall apart, so this seemed like a “glass half full” way of looking at things. It’s hard to see it and accept it at the time, but everything in life happens for a reason. At least that’s what I keep telling myself…

  1. That vegan chocolate mousse looks amazing.

I love your lunch bag too. I’m always looking for cute reusable bags since there’s a 10 cent bag fee here in San Francisco. Totally adorable. I’ll have to scope out my Whole Foods next time I go!

    • It’s seriously my favorite dessert ever! Make sure to pick some up the next time you’re there so you can try it. It’s so good! We have a 10 cent bag fee in areas around here too so having reusable ones are a must. They have a big version of my lunch bag too that you could use for all your groceries. 🙂
