I’m a little hyped up if you can’t tell! How have your workouts been going this week? I challenged myself to start incorporating more strength training into my workouts last week as part of a workout challenge my friend Katie and I are doing together to help hold us accountable. I have gotten into a rut of only doing spin class and nothing more the last couple of months, so I knew it was time to step up my game and start incorporating some strength training and variety into my weekly workouts. My goal was to incorporate three 30 minute strength training sessions on top of the spin classes and other cardio I was already doing.
Do you ever have one of those days that you just need to get out of the office for a little breather to help you reset? Yesterday was one of those days for me. I normally don’t take a lunch break, but yesterday I decided I needed to get out and get some fresh air. I ended up walking a total of 1.54 miles round trip in exactly 30 minutes. I felt a lot less irritable when I got back to the office, so I think I’m going to start doing this more regularly, while the weather is still on my side!
I know I usually provide you with helpful workout tips on Workout Wednesday, but my friend Jenica did a post about some annoying gym habits last week and I had to do my own take on it. I know this is a place of positivity, but I actually think these posts are funny, so hopefully you will too. Please keep in mind this is all in good fun so please don’t take offence or send me hate comments. Are we all on the same page now with this? Okay… good!
Is it just me or has this been the longest week ever? I mean seriously, I was thinking it was Thursday and turns out it was only Tuesday. Talk about disappointing. Sheesh. Anyways, the good news is that it actually is Friday now! Whoop whoop!
Last night, I set my alarm with the intention of going to spin class at the gym this morning. When I woke up BEFORE my alarm to get ready to go (this is no small victory here people!), I realized I forgot one important thing when I made my plans last night, clean pants. Crap!
Welcome to the weekend! Phew! I’m so glad this was a short week. I really don’t think I could have done another work day this week. What about you?
Last night, my workout consisted of 10 minutes on the rowing machine, 20 minutes of abs and 60 minutes in my beloved spin class. Yes, in case you were wondering, I was in the classroom alone when I took this. I am SO not that weird girl who takes selfies during class instead of sweating! There was a girl who did this in class though once. It was awkward for everyone involved!
Welcome to Wednesday! I don’t know about you, but I’m sure glad this is a short week. The fact that as soon as we hit September 1st, it immediately turned from nice sunny days to cloudy, grey, cold and rainy is getting to me a little. What about you?
I spent the last few days in Joseph, Oregon visiting my cousin and her kiddos before they move. Hopefully they will still be the same distance away (they currently live around 7 hours away) or closer than they are now, once they move closer to her husbands’ work! I wanted to take advantage of the long holiday weekend and make a trip out to see my cousin, their cabin, her 6 month old twins and 2 year old son before the big move. This was the first time that I was able to meet the twins, so I was excited to see them before they grew up too much!
I guess technically it’s a little late to welcome you to Monday, since it’s currently 8pm Pacific Time, but you get my drift.
I don’t know about you, but Mondays are not my favorite day of the week. They mark the end of the freedom of the weekend and getting back to the grind at work. Blah.
That being said, I’m trying to put a positive spin on Mondays instead. I’ve been trying to focus on things that make me happy in life and incorporating them into my life on a more regular basis. So I thought why not invent “Things That Make Me Happy Monday” and share the happiness with all of you! 🙂
