Weekend in Review: Puppy Cuteness & I Need Your Help!

Hey there!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I know I did, despite the fact that Chick Fil A is trying to ruin my life by being closed on Sundays (not that I’m holding a grudge or anything 🙂 I spent the weekend at home with my parents relaxing and soaking up some much needed puppy time, so even Chick Fil A couldn’t ruin my mood!

A Look Back At 2014

I wasn’t originally planning on doing a year in review recap since I didn’t start A Couple of Dashes until August, but after reading a few by other bloggers (Lake Shore Runner, Meals and Miles and Run Eat Repeat), I decided I would be sad if I didn’t have one to look back at next year. My year was filled with some crazy highs and lows. I lost some old friends and made some new ones, let go of some dreams that could never fully make it to fruition, but also saw some dreams I never could have imagined before come true. So here’s a look back at all the shenanigans I got into in 2014! Let’s get to it!

Workout Challenge Week 1 Check-In

Hello! Hey! Hi! How you doing?!?!

I’m a little hyped up if you can’t tell! How have your workouts been going this week? I challenged myself to start incorporating more strength training into my workouts last week as part of a workout challenge my friend Katie and I are doing together to help hold us accountable. I have gotten into a rut of only doing spin class and nothing more the last couple of months, so I knew it was time to step up my game and start incorporating some strength training and variety into my weekly workouts. My goal was to incorporate three 30 minute strength training sessions on top of the spin classes and other cardio I was already doing.

5 Things Friday – Sweat Pink, Workout Leggings for Pants and Pumpkin Lights

Friday is finally here and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve got big plans for this weekend that I’m excited to get to! I have an entire day of crafts, cooking and movies planned for Saturday with my mom and aunt since the weather is supposed to be yucky around here. It will definitely be fun and hopefully productive too because we’ve got a lot of things to accomplish on our agenda, like making a healthy crockpot dinner, a dairy-free Halloween dessert, apple nachos and taking LOTS of photos for some upcoming blog posts. I’m trying to improve my blog photo skills a little this weekend because I’m working on some posts that require a little more professional looking photos than the ones I usually take from my iPhone, so fingers crossed that all works out. We will see!

So here are five random things I wanted to share with you this Friday. Make sure you share some randomness in the comments section below. Enjoy!

1.  I got a super exciting email yesterday morning saying that I was selected to be a Sweat Pink Ambassador! EEEEKKK!

Fall Workout Playlist + Workout Check-In

Hello Everyone!

Have you been having a good week so far? I’ve been feeling a little out of it lately and that was very evident in spin class yesterday. I usually like to show up to class about 20 minutes early so I can zone out and do my own thing for awhile before class starts and yesterday was no different. (That’s why the photo of me is super dark because they don’t turn the lights on in the classroom until about 10 minutes before class starts.) Once my solo 20 minutes were over and class started, time seemed to drag on forever. I was tired, not in the mood to be there, couldn’t wait for it to be over and the music selection for the class was all wrong, in my opinion. I know you all know by now how important I think music is in motivating us and getting us pumped up for a good workout!
