5 Things Friday – Nuunbassador, Ed Sheeran and a holiday gift guide from Grace Helbig.

Hey there!

Can you guys believe it’s now less than a week to Christmas! YIKES! Who still has shopping left to do? I can’t be the only one, so don’t leave me out here hanging guys! I can honestly say I haven’t stepped foot into the mall this year for any of my Christmas shopping so far, since I’ve done most of it online or at Target, but I have a feeling I’m going to have to break down and brave the mall before the season is over and I’m not excited about it.

Anywhoo… let’s get down to business this Friday with my 5 Things Friday list!

1. I’m a Nuunbassador!

I may or may not have squealed and did a little happy dance at my desk when I saw this email waiting for me in my inbox yesterday afternoon!  Good thing everyone else in my office was out for lunch already so I didn’t scare everyone with my crazy antics! I’m so happy to be a Nuunbassador for 2015 and represent this product that I already use and love! This means hopefully I’ll be able to bring some more fun Nuun giveaways to you guys in the near future! YAY!

I also want to congratulate my blog friend (and local Tacoma, WA running enthusiast) Molly for making it on to Team Nuun for 2015 and my friend Jill who will be a fellow Nuunbassador with me! I’m so happy to be in such good company with these lovely ladies!

Check out why I love Nuun so much here and check out my shiny new Nuunbassador badge below! Eeeeekkkk!!!

3. Not anything glamorous, but definitely necessary…

To say that my skin hasn’t exactly been cooperating with me lately, would be an understatement. I’ve been using prescription acne treatment for as long as I can remember, but when I went to fill my prescription for my acne medicine again a few weeks ago and the pharmacist told me it was going to cost over $400, I knew I was going to have to find a new alternative fast! I’ve heard that Target carries some decent OTC acne medicine, so I went to check it out to see if they had anything I thought would be a good fit for me. Most OTC acne medicine is made out of salicylic acid, which has never really worked for me, so I’ve never really bothered looking for a drugstore treatment before.

When I came across this benzoyl peroxide gel, I got really excited and thought I’d give it a shot since it was only $3.74 (talk about a score!). I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and have been really impressed with the results. My only complaint is that it’s a 10% strength, when I’m used to using something more around 5%, so it can be a bit strong if I use it every single day. Other than that, I’m loving it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good OTC acne treatment!

I got some good news earlier this week at the doctors’ office. I have been having some knee issues for the past year that have pretty much prevented me from running, which is just not okay in my book. I went to a specialist right after it happened and my doctor told me I had quadriceps tendinitis and needed to go through a few months of physical therapy and then I should be back to normal. About halfway through my physical therapy program, things seemed to be getting better and I was happy to be almost back to normal, until one day my injury came back with a vengeance. Nothing seemed to be working, so I stopped going to physical therapy because I was convinced it was a waste of money because I had been misdiagnosed.

Fast forward to this Tuesday when I had an appointment for a second opinion somewhere else. My new doctor diagnosed me with the same exact thing. I was shocked because I was absolutely convinced it was something horrible that required surgery. Looks like I just have to start at square one again with physical therapy and see what happens this time around. At least no serious medical procedures are required at this point, so I’m relieved about that.

5. I’ve been loving this song…

“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran since I saw him preform on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show a couple of nights ago (yes, I missed the premier so I had to catch it in reruns. sad day.).

I may be a little biased though since I’ve been a fan since before “The A Team” was a huge hit and Jenica and I went on Operation Ginger Stalk to meet him!

Okay… now on to some link love from the blogosphere this week!

  1. Oh my gosh you met ED!!!!! So jealous. I can’t say I have been a fan as long as you but I have been obsessed since 4th of July when I watched him perform on the Today show. Ever since then it has been a pure obsession. I want to see him live!

    • That’s awesome! Did you see him preform on the VS fashion show? It was really good! I was going to post that video, but thought people might think a music video with girls walking around in lingerie was a weird fit for my blog! haha! He’s really good live though so I’d highly recommend checking him out if you get the chance. Tickets for his shows here seem to sell out insanely fast!

    • Congrats! That’s so exciting! So many great bloggers were accepted this year so I’m excited to be in such good company! I did cyber Monday shopping too! I think I’m going to stop in the mall tonight to pick up one thing, but that will be the only trip I’ve made there for Christmas shopping this season. It’s so much easier to shop online when everywhere has free shipping!

  2. Hey lady, good luck with your knee injury! I had trouble with patellofemoral syndrome for years, but finding the right physical therapist makes all the difference. I went through a few before I found one who knew how to work with athletes and finally kicked my knee pain for good! I actually ended up working as a physical therapy aid after all of that. But sticking with your PT is totally worth it if you find a good physical therapist.
